Rescue crews in Nepal have freed two workers from a blocked hydropower tunnel, nine days after they were trapped by debris from flash floods that devastated an area on the border with Tibet. Shortly after the two survivors were released, the body of a third person was found.   • That was the dramatic moment when the first of two workers were rescued from a hydropower tunnel

  • more than a week after the flash flood that has killed more than 1,200 people, leaving thousands more still missing.

  • In a video released by the Nepalese authorities, one of the men, Kabir Mahajan,

  • was shown being hoisted from a hole in the ground as bystanders cheered, then lowered onto a stretcher.

  • His colleague, Sanjay Shah, was brought out on a worker's back.

  • His face still caked in mud before army doctors fitted an oxygen mask and checked his vitals.

  • A third man was also brought out, though he was already dead.
