Guess what's back?
It's the Shanghai International Film Festival, and this year it's not just bigger, it's a whole new kind of event.
Record breaking submissions, countless screenings, plus AI workshops, experimental film labs,
and walking tours through historic neighborhoods.
Even your ticket stub unlocks some discounts and city adventures after the credits roll.
So how is SIFF or SIF turning all of Shanghai into part of the show?
That's coming up.
Coming to you live from our studios in Beijing, this is Roundtable.
I'm Steve Hatherly.
Thank you very much for being with us today.
And for the show, I'm with Yushan and Yangguang.
First up...
The Shanghai International Film Festival is back in a big way, bringing a record-breaking number of film submissions,
hundreds of screenings, and a host of new experiences that extend far beyond the cinema.
As China's only recognized A-list film festival,
SIF has grown from a major industry event into a city-wide celebration of cinema.
But this year's festival is not just about what's going on on the big screen.
Experimental film production labs to movie themed walking routes throughout historic parts of Shanghai
Sif is turning the city itself into an immersive cinematic experience
