This comes as the U.S. Disabled and boarded an Iranian flag container ship going to Iran.
NPR's Jane Araf says Iran's state news agency quoted a senior Iranian official who says Tehran has no plans
for the next round of negotiations.
That U.S. Seizure of the vessel, the container ship, played into that, of course.
And then there was the Iranian drone attack in response to that.
Iran said the U.S. Was clearly not serious about negotiations.
Especially after new threats by President Trump to bomb all power plants and bridges.
It said all of this was intended to do what it called betray diplomacy.
Over the weekend, Iran said it would again close the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S.
Is maintaining its blockade of Iranian ports.
A powerful earthquake shook northeast Japan today.
It triggered a tsunami warning and evacuation orders.
NPR's Anthony Kuhn reports so far there have been no reports of injuries or major damage.
The quake's magnitude was initially estimated at 7.5.
Its epicenter was off the country's east coast, about six miles below the sea's surface.
The quake was felt and buildings swayed in the capital, Tokyo.
