From the Times and the Sunday Times, this is the story on Saturday.
I'm Manveen Rana.
Yesterday, a jury in Manchester convicted a man called Paul Quinn of a historic rape
that took place in Little Halton in Salford.
It was a horrific crime.
But it was also the same crime for which another man, Andrew Malkinson, was wrongfully convicted back in 2004.
Andrew spent 17 years in prison.
It 's one of the worst miscarriages of justice in British history,
and it was brought to national attention by The Sunday Times and our podcast series,
17 Years, The Andrew Malkinson Story, which we first released in 2021.
Do go back and have a listen to the full series on The Times Investigates feed, season five.
Right now, we have a new episode in the series.
And for that, I'm handing over to my colleagues,
the Sunday Times special correspondent Emily Dugan and the series producer Will Rowe.
