Dr. Anthony Fauci is scheduled to appear before a Senate committee today under subpoena.
He's expected to be questioned about the origins of COVID,
as well as his personal diary entries related to the COVID pandemic.
The Senate has confirmed Jay Clayton to be the director of national intelligence.
The vote was along party lines, 51 to 47. Clayton is a federal prosecutor who served as U.S.
Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
He's also the former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Clayton replaces acting director Bill Pulte, who was appointed by President Trump after Tulsi Gabbard resigned in May.
Senate Democrats expressed concerns about Clayton
when he declined to acknowledge Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election during his confirmation hearing.
A funeral procession and a memorial service are being held today in Columbia,
South Carolina, for the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
