There's still no word from President Trump on whether
the U.S. and Iran will agree to extend their ongoing ceasefire by 60 days.
NPR's Tamara Keith says the president has been signaling a decision was near since late last week.
On Friday, President Trump announced he was heading into the Situation Room for a high-level
meeting about the potential deal, "to make a final determination." He was there for two hours,
and we still don't know what he decided.
Over the past two months, there have been many threats from President Trump and claims of a deal being near.
Then last week, he said he might not even sign the deal unless Gulf Arab states
like Qatar sign the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations with Israel.
That's NPR's Tamara Keith.
U.S. Central Command said American forces struck multiple Iranian radar and drone launching sites near the Strait
of Hormuz over the weekend in response to Iran shooting down a U.S. drone operating over international waters.
The wife of Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Plattner is speaking
out in response to news reports about her husband's sexually explicit text messages.
Amy Gertner's comments appear in a video on YouTube, as NPR's Camila Domenoski reports.
On Saturday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Gertner had told her husband's campaign about sexually explicit
text messages he had sent other women as part of a process checking for any risks to his bid for Senate.
Gertner and Plattner were married in 2023. In her video, Gertner said that being newly married
while going through infertility and a Senate campaign was hard, but that counseling helps.
