  • My name's Tony Travers.

  • I'm chairing this evening's event, which is called "Ten Years On: Brexit and Britain's Political Future."

  • And I think I can say, judging by other programmes for other institutions I've seen in the coming weeks,

  • with several of our speakers here doubtless speaking at more than one of them.

  • This is hosted by the Department of Government here at the LSE.

  • It's an in-person and online public event.

  • And I have one or two other things that I'm required to announce.

  • It's a hashtag, which is somewhere LSE events.

  • There we are.

  • There are journalists here, welcome journalists,

  • but for everybody else who didn't know that, there are journalists here who are taking photographs and recording things.

  • There is an exhibition; afterwards there will be a drink and with it an exhibition from the LSE Library's

  • excellent collection of memorabilia and other important printed and other matter from that referendum 10 years ago.

  • Before I introduce our distinguished panel, each of whom we'll speak for by the evening is going to work.
