  • China has expressed readiness to work with Russia to help ease tensions in the Middle East.

  • In a phone call on Sunday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov agreed on the need

  • for a ceasefire and a return to dialogue.

  • Wang Yi said China and Russia, as permanent members of the UN Security Council,

  • should promote fairness and take objective and balanced approach.

  • Lavrov expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict,

  • calling for immediate toll to military operations and a shift towards political and diplomatic solutions.
