Hey friends, it's Rosie.
Welcome to Radio Headspace.
What if the most radical thing you could do right now is sit at a dinner
table for two hours and just talk?
No phones, no notifications, no second screen glowing beside you.
Just a conversation that wanders and deepens and occasionally gets a little uncomfortable.
I've been thinking a lot about that this week.
The other night, I rewatched My Dinner with Andre.
If you've never seen it, the entire film is just two men sitting at a restaurant talking.
That's it.
No plot twists, no action, no cinematic distractions, just conversation.
The first time I saw it, I was 13. My teacher, Mr. Haig,
who honestly deserves an award for surviving a classroom full of sugar-loaded,
flaming hot Cheeto-eating kids in East LA in the mid-90s.
He had given up on assigning book reports because we simply weren't doing them.
So instead, we watched films.
Neverending Story, The Sandlot, Field of Dreams.
Our assignment was simple.
What is it about?
What did you like?
