I just wanted to say a few welcoming remarks.
So this is actually an event that straddles two conferences.
One is on...
LSE Environment Camp, which is targeted at PhD students studying environmental economics from all over the world.
And the other is the LSE Sustainable Growth Conference, which brings in policy makers and academics from India.
And I think what's interesting about that sort of putting those two together is we have the very young people
who are increasingly filling the academic sort of ranks studying environmental economics.
And that part is what's been going on today.
We'll take part for half of tomorrow and then we move into the India conference half of Friday and then Saturday.
What's interesting about that is we've basically seen this movement
of lots of young researchers getting interested in the environment.
But in part, that's driven by the demand of policymakers from India and many other places,
which are sort of driving up that demand.
And we're seeing that sort of demand for environmental economics across not just academia, but policy firms and so on.
So it's exciting to kind of combine those two things in this event.
