1 小时 28 分钟Welcome to the LSE events podcast by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Get ready to hear from some of the most influential international figures in the social sciences.
So much for coming.
It's a delight to see so many people here.
We appreciate you showing this interest in this important topic.
So welcome to the LSE for this hybrid event,
which is online and in person, about post-crisis development and the need for human rights.
This is a wonderful collaboration between the LSE Department of International Development and Amnesty International.
Now, my name is Tim Forsyth.
I'm a professor of environment and development at the Department of International Development at the LSE.
And what I'm going to do is introduce people,
give a rough idea of how long we're going to be and what the plan is afterwards.
So today we have some very important speakers from Amnesty International.
The keynote address will be made by Yasmin Ahmed, who will speak for some 15 or so minutes.
And then we're going to have a panel discussion by Chiara Liguori, Polly Truscott, and Madhanu James.
Madhanu James is from our department here at the LSE.
They will speak on how robust evidence can inform the design, implementation
and evaluation of policies that advance human rights and improve development outcomes under real-world conditions.
Bringing together academic expertise and frontline experience, the event will provide a platform
for translating research into actionable policy and practice with a strong focus on ethics,
