Coming to you live from London, I'm James Kamarasamy.
And we begin with the wildfires in southern Europe,
which are burning through thousands of hectares of land and are now threatening some big cities.
In southwest France, military transport planes are being deployed
to drop water as the fires approach the outskirts of Bordeaux,
while Spain has declared a national emergency, with the capital Madrid now within range of the flames and smoke.
More than a quarter of a million people have been evacuated across the two countries.
In a few moments, we'll hear from one woman who has been unable to flee the fire zone.

I've been speaking to Eleanor Carroix, the French Foreign Minister for International Partnerships.
