Hello and welcome to Super Great Kids Stories.
Wise tales from storytellers around the world which will make you laugh and sometimes cry.
Recommended for ages 5 to 105. I'm Kim and I love stories.
To fit our October theme of scary tales, this week Jason Buck tells us a fairy tale from Scotland,
the land of castles and the Loch Ness Monster.
Story is called Molly Wuppie.
It's a terrifying tale about a thuggish giant which we rate at three out of three screams.
Very scary indeed because Jason is good at doing scary giant noises
and the giant does actually squish three of his girls to jelly accidentally but even so.
I hope you're up for listening because it is a really good story, well told with a dash of silliness.
But if scary giants are not your thing, then maybe try listening to Jason telling The Enormous Turnip,
or Baden telling Rare Rabbit and the Big Wind, or Wangari telling Anansi and Number Five.
Are you having a good week, Super Great Kids?
The leaves in my garden are turning orange
and red and the squirrels are hiding nuts in the flowerbeds and then returning to nibble them.
I saw a squirrel tricking another squirrel the other day.
It pretended to bury a nut while the other squirrel was watching.
And as soon as the watching squirrel had gone away, it dug it up and buried it somewhere else.
Really, a trickster squirrel in my garden.
Amazing.
