For example, you might hear someone say a sentence like this If I had more money, I would buy a boat.
This person is talking about a hypothetical situation.
It's not real.
In reality, the person doesn't have the money to buy a boat,
but they're imagining a situation in which they do have the money,
and they imagine themselves buying a boat with that money.
So let's talk about how to form this type of sentence correctly.
The second conditional has two parts.
The conditional clause, and the result clause.
In the conditional clause, we use the word if and we use the simple past tense of the verb.
