Our public lecture series entitled America's Changing Role in the World.
The series, which began just about this time last year,
will run again through the academic year and is comprised of six different lectures, public lectures,
or roundtables, all of them terrific like tonight's is going to be.
The series is premised on the idea that America is in the throes of a rethink.
To put it charitably, about its international purposes and priorities.
And basically the idea was to use the Center's resources
and the LSE's convening power to bring people to LSE who are thinking hard about this question to ensure
