Welcome to Otherworld, I'm your host, Jack Wagner.
This episode comes from a couple named Caro and Charlotte who live down in Arizona near the edge of the Navajo Nation,
which is the largest Native American tribe and reservation in the United States,
covering 27,000 square miles across Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.
Now, I mention the reservation not because I think the story is or is not connected to the Navajo.
I mainly mention it because this whole thing takes place in an area of vast protected land and wilderness,
an area that is larger than many states in the U.S. Caro and Charlotte's experience begins one night
when they went outside to look for their cat, Benny, and ended up seeing something.
Unidentifiable run across the street.
This episode is called Benny and You're Listening to Otherworld.
Everybody moves back into the light, even if it takes them a minute.
I live in Northern Arizona, just like south of the Navajo Nation.
There's a lot of ponderosa pine forests.
It's kind of like the high desert on the Colorado Plateau.
There's a lot of diversity in the landscape around us.
So you 've got like high mountain peaks and then also like we have the desert environments where it 's a little bit less dense
with vegetation and lower in elevation.
So there's a lot of variety up here and a lot of public land.
So a lot of wide open space.
Both forested and not forested, but a lot of places where just a lot of people don't live.
