Voters in New Hampshire picked their Senate candidates last night in one of the last primaries of the campaign season.
Democratic U.S. Representative Chris Pappas held off a progressive challenger to advance,
and face Republican John Sununu, who is part of a storied name in state politics.
Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen is retiring, and the party had hoped to keep New Hampshire in its corner.
But some recent polling has shown that the race might be closer than once thought.
It's the final puzzle piece in the overall Senate race that has become much more of a tossup recently.
Bridget Bowman is a national politics reporter with NBC News.
She told us how New Hampshire might fit in, and how Republicans are feeling about it.
Even though it's thought of as maybe a blue state, it can be competitive at the statewide level.
There's also a competitive governor's race there with Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte running for re-election.
