16 分钟Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Everyday English Lab.
I'm your host, Mark, and today I want to talk to you about something very close to my heart,
the journey of learning how to talk in English and how that journey can change your life.
English changed my life.
It opened doors I never knew existed, helped me make new friends from different cultures,
and inspired me to dream bigger.
When I first started learning, I was scared.
I didn't know many words, and my accent was different.
The thought of speaking in front of someone else filled me with anxiety.
But I never gave up.
Step by step, I learned, just like a baby learning to walk.
I fell many times, I stumbled over words.
And I made countless mistakes, but I always got up again.
I know some of you feel the exact same way.
Maybe you're shy to speak, afraid to make mistakes, or worried that people will laugh at you.
Perhaps you feel stuck believing that you've reached a plateau in your learning.
But remember this fundamental truth.
Making mistakes is not a failure.
It is an essential, unavoidable part of learning.
If we don't try, if we don't put ourselves out there and risk making mistakes, we can never improve.
