China is doubling down on efforts to develop embodied artificial intelligence.
This year's government work report has named Embodied AI as one of the emerging industries that China will nurture,
pledging that mechanisms will be put in place to increase funding and share risks.
The outline of the country's 15th five-year plan also mentions Embodied AI as one of the new growth engines that China will cultivate.
Earlier this month,
China released the country's first-ever National Standard System for Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Artificial Intelligence,
a key step towards regulating the fast-growing industry.
The annual session of China's top legislature concluded on Thursday,
approving this year's government work report and the outline of the next five-year plan.
