Today, Laura and Paddy are joined by correspondent Joe Pike to go through the biggest stories of the day. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has called for a stronger, bolder Europe, and deeper links between the UK and the EU. He told world leadersat the Munich Security Conference “we are not the Britain of the Brexit years any more,” and Europe “must be ready to fight”. We also look at a story about a think tank, Labour Together, which helped labour win in the General Election. They are accused of paying a PR firm to investigate the personal details of a journalist. Labour Together says its supporting an investigation. And, Laura’s been speaking to Dr Hilary Cass, the author of a major review into the treatment of children and young people questioning their gender. On Laura’s Sunday show, Cass says children have been "weaponised" by both sides of a toxic debate about transgender rights. You can now listen to Newscast on a smart speaker. • This BBC podcast is supported by ads outside the UK.

  • I've spent the last three decades trying to better understand money across the boardroom,

  • the newsroom, and the trading floor.

  • That's longer than most podcast hosts have been alive.

  • But even I've got questions.

  • Join me, Maren's Upset Web, every week for my show, Maren Talks Money, from Bloomberg Podcasts,

  • where I have in-depth conversations with fund managers,

  • strategists, and experts about how markets really work.

  • And join me for a separate episode where I answer listener questions on how to make those markets work for you.

  • Follow Maren Talks Money on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever.

  • You're looking at me strangely, Patrick.

  • Because how do we sum up Sunday's journalism the best of broadcasts,

  • the best of print, the best of online?

  • So we try it in three words.

  • War.

  • Labour.

  • That works in two different ways, doesn't it?

  • And Andrew.

  • There we go.

  • We did it.
