NPR has learned that the U.S.
Brought home all its long-range bomber planes from a base in the U.K.
Last week.
That was because of a credible threat linked to Iran.
NPR's Greg Myrie says it's according to a U.S.
Official not authorized to speak publicly.
This threat potentially involved a drone attack.
The U.S. Planes were flown out Sunday.
They've returned to home bases in the U.S.
And these are long-range bombers that were part of a larger contingent of U.S.
Warplanes that used this British base in recent months to carry out airstrikes in Iran.
NPR's Greg Myrie reporting.
The potential threat came to light after the U.K.
Arrested five men in vans last week near the U.K.
Airbase.
Two more men were arrested a few days later.
Most of them have been released on bail.
No one has been charged.
