Chinese President Xi Jinping has caught on China and Jordan
to further deepen the alignment of their development strategies.
He made a remark in a meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Beijing.
Xi Jinping said China and Jordan should deepen cooperation in traditional fields such as trade and infrastructure
while expanding new cooperation in areas including the digital economy and artificial intelligence.
King Abdullah II said Jordan is formally committed to the one-China principle
and is willing to deepen ties with China in manufacturing, agriculture, and technology.
The leaders also exchanged ideas regarding the situation in the Middle East.
President Xi Jinping stressed a political settlement of the Palestinian issue,
the principle of Palestinians governing Palestine, the protection of civilians, and fairness and justice.
The King of Jordan said Jordan is willing to maintain communication
with China and make efforts to ease tensions in the region.
King Abdullah II is currently on a state visit to China.
