This week, an ICE officer shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo during a traffic stop in Houston.
The first time immigration agents have shot and killed someone
since the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Preddy in Minnesota.
We don't have videos of the Houston incident yet, and we don't fully know what happened.
But the agency has already released a conclusive statement about the incident.
The words were familiar.
The man, they wrote, quote, weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer,
resulting in our officer firing his weapon in self-defense.
Which is very similar to the story I told about Renee Good and very different
from what the videos showed happened to her that day.
