I mean, I've been at Nobel for a little bit more than a year.
And during last year, we had a lot of strategic discussions
as you often have when you have a new executive director coming in.
And one of the discussions that we had was, I mean,
the Nobel organization as well as almost any other organization would like to be a courageous organization.
But when we discussed what will the coming years be like and what kind of courage
will be extra important being responsible for the Nobel Prizes
and then we said that the courage that will really need the coming years is integrity.
Integrity is one of our core values and we take that really seriously.
This is an organization that really has integrity in its core.
The Nobel Foundation has a storied history dating back all the way to Alfred Nobel,
the famous Swedish inventor of dynamite, who out of guilt, of course,
pivoted later in life and created the Nobel prizes for peace and the sciences in his will.
But few years in Nobel's history will have been as turbulent for the organization as the last one,
with one Donald Trump becoming US President in January 2025,
and quickly turning his attention to the Peace Prize and consequently,
excoriating the award for not giving it to him at the end of that year.
Well, this year the Nobel Foundation celebrates its 125th anniversary and its executive director, Hannah Hjarne,
tells me that she's proud to back the integrity of the Nobel Prize, its process,
and the work of the Nobel Foundation behind it.
