That's what one investor called U.S.
Treasury Secretary Scott Besson's attempt to calm the bond market.
Bonds have been selling off all week around the globe.
Besson's department announced on Wednesday that it would at least double purchases of long-term government debt.
U.S.
Government bonds rallied right after the announcement, but yesterday the sell-off stormed back.
