This week's story is a Maui trickster tale called How Maui Discovered the Secret of Fire,
and it's told by Emmy Bidwa from Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Hello, super great kids.
How are you?
It's nearly the end of June,
which if you're in the northern part of the world, means that it's the middle of summer.
In the top of Europe, countries like Sweden and Finland,
where the winters are long and dark, mid-summer and long days of sunlight call for a big celebration.
And I was lucky enough once to be in Sweden for their mid-summer celebration.
I remember parties with people wearing crowns of flowers, dancing around maypoles,
having picnics, swimming in lakes of course, and staying up all night.
And if you're in the southern part of the world,
it's midwinter with long, starry nights, frosty mornings and storytelling by the fire.
Just before our tricks to tale, here's a little question for you.
If you were telling a story from our podcast, which one do you think you'd like to tell?
Maybe a fairy tale like Stick Woman?
A trickster story like a Nancy and the Hot Pepper Soup?
