The Canadian government says it plans to enact billions of dollars worth of tariffs on more than 700 U.S.
Goods in response to actions by President Trump.
The Canadian tariffs will range from 15 percent to 50 percent and begin September 8th.
Duties on imports of American steel and aluminum will double.
Days ago, Trump added 50 percent tariffs on scores of Canadian imports.
Later this morning, the Commerce Department is scheduled to report new numbers on the U.S.
Economy with revised data on second quarter gross domestic product.
Senator Darlene Graham of South Carolina is celebrating a win in the state's Republican Senate runoff.
She defeated Congressman Ralph Norman and will be the party's nominee in November.
Luis Alfredo Garcia with South Carolina Public Radio has more.
Graham had the backing of President Trump and several established lawmakers throughout the state,
but she was criticized for her lack of political experience.
She says in an election night speech that the party now needs to focus on winning in November.
Tonight is a great victory, but it's not the finish line.
In fact, it is the starting line for an even bigger fight which lies ahead.
Graham will face Democratic nominee pediatrician Annie Andrews in the November general election.
