  • At the 59th ASEAN Foreign Minister's meeting wrapped up, Chinese Foreign Minister

  • Wang Yi held a series of key bilateral meetings, including a 90-minute closed-door talk with U.S.

  • Secretary of State Mark Rubio.

  • Wang said mutual trust is the foundation of China-ASEAN relations

  • and reaffirmed China's commitment to strengthening cooperation and regional unity.

  • During talks with the Philippine foreign minister, Wang lodged a strong protest against

  • the Philippine personnel's recent ramming of Chinese law enforcement vessels at Ren Aijian,

  • urging Manila to stop maritime provocations and take concrete steps to stabilize bilateral ties.

  • In his meeting with Rubio, Wang called on the United States to properly manage differences.

  • The two sides agreed to make full use of diplomatic channels,

  • high-level exchanges and work toward a China-US relationship of strategic stability.
