Completely unacceptable.
That's how President Trump described Iran's latest proposal to end the war.
It creates another hurdle in negotiations and leaves the region in limbo.
Axios reported that Iran initially rejected U.S. Proposals to end the war, issuing a response after 10 days.
They cited unnamed officials who said it had focused on a suspension on Iranian nuclear enrichment,
the lifting of sanctions, and restoring free transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
Instead, Iranian state media reported on the regime's own demands.
That included guarantees for ending the war permanently,
compensation for war damage, and an emphasis on Iranian sovereignty over the strait.
It's somewhat unclear where negotiations go now, only days after Trump said the war would be over very quickly.
Speaking to ABC, before Trump's rejection on Sunday,
U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz suggested the administration had favored talks.
