Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on the international community to increase its support
for the United Nations Charter at a time of global geopolitical and economic uncertainty.
Wang made the remarks
while presiding over a Security Council high-level meeting on strengthening the UN-centered international system.
The Chinese Foreign Minister also outlined China's key role in upholding multilateralism.
He said China has taken an active part in the UN cause as a permanent member of the Security Council.
This year marks the 55th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of China in the UN.
