Discussion keeps the world turning.
This is Round Table.
You're listening to Round Table.
I'm Steve Hatherly today with Fei Fei and Yu Shun.
Coming up, prices across the entire consumer electronics industry are climbing,
but it's not your typical price hike.
The culprit is not a shortage of materials or even supply chain crisis.
It's something much bigger, and it's reshaping the cost of every device you own.
Coming up on today's The Why, we'll explain what's really going on behind the numbers
and why one part of the tech world in particular is actually moving in the opposite direction.
And today, Yu Shun, the topic is about something that almost never happens
in the world of consumer electronics.
Yes, you may think of the newest mobile phone to buy,
but maybe wait for a couple of months for it to decrease the price, right?
But now, it is totally the opposite.
Wait for the prices to go up?
For the old, the usual product, not for new products.
No, not the, you know, limited edition, not the brand new product launch,
just the old product. It just got an increase of price.
So, and also, it's across the industry.
