单集简介 ...

According to Great British Bake Off judge and national treasure Prue Leith the secret to a happy life lies in embracing everyday with joy while accepting our inevitable end. Prue has had an exhilarating career. She has been a Michelin-starred restaurateur, author, broadcaster, and beloved Bake Off judge. Yet her passion for life has also been shaped by the loss of her brother and first husband. These experiences inspired her to become a leading campaigner for assisted dying in the UK. In February 2026 Prue joined Intelligence Squared live at the Royal Geographical Society to reflect on her remarkable life and share insights from her new memoir Being Old … and Learning to Love It! Expect reflections on love, ageing, joy, and grief — from strutting the catwalk and finding love again in her seventies, to facing life’s hardest goodbyes with humour and grace. 单集文稿 ...

  • Welcome to Intelligence Squared, where great minds meet.

  • I'm producer Mia Sorrenti.

  • In this episode, we return for part two of our recent live event with Bake Off judge,

  • Michelin-style restaurateur and author, Prue Leith.

  • Leith joined us recently at the Royal Geographical Society to discuss how to live fully and age well.

  • She was in conversation with broadcaster, journalist and author, Mariella Frostrock.

  • If you haven't heard part one, we recommend jumping back an episode to get up to speed.

  • But now let's return to the conversation live at the Royal Geographical Society in London.

  • You're clearly also a very good businesswoman.

  • And in fact, in the chapter where you talk about being on the various boards,

  • I mean, it 's disingenuous because I think that you work really hard and you clearly have an aptitude for it.

  • And you talk about being on these boards, you know,

  • what were we talking, 30 years ago or so, and sitting around a table with 20 men and you.

  • And, you know, actually what comes.

  • Screaming out of it is your ability to not only hold your own, but to make really tough decisions and so on.

  • Is that a side of you that you're less comfortable about exposing?

  • No, I love business.

  • I've always liked.

  • Like business and think it's really interesting.

  • And I hate it when children are fed with the idea that to be in an office is boring.
