  • Hi, welcome back to Eat Your Crest Podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • And I'm Crystal.

  • So we haven't talked about this topic in a long time,

  • but back in the day, Crystal and I used to kind of revisit and reflect on our Asian American identity a lot.

  • And in the past few years or so, we've unpacked this topic through various slices of the Asian American life.

  • But today we thought it would be fun to talk about this head on.

  • Identifying how Asian we're currently feeling, the various habits

  • that we might have that might lean Asian or more American, and just generally how the community has been.

  • So let's start this off by talking about something very topical, which is the World Cup.

  • Do you think you tend to root for Asian teams in the World Cup?

  • Dude, I'm not sure.

  • I think there's always a part of me that's like when I see Asians succeeding in any kind of situation,

  • whether it's like sports or I don't know, some sort of world competition.

  • I'm always like, oh my God, yes, go Asians.

  • I always gravitate a little towards it.

  • But I think this time for World Cup, the only Asian or at least like East Asian countries.

  • Participating were south korea and japan which is also very like exciting

  • but i think personally there's slightly less attachment because it's not like china

  • but i think still i'm like oh nice if they get a win you know i'm like yes one for the asians
