A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to restore White House access to three media organizations.
CNN, MSNOW, and Politico had sued, saying President Trump's abrupt decision
to ban them was because he didn't like them or their content, and that was a First Amendment violation.
NPR's David Folkenflik reports the judge cited an additional reason for his decision.
Judge Kelly ruled that there was a clear violation of these institutions' due process rights.
That's part of the Fifth Amendment.
That is, you can't have something taken away from you without
being told ahead of time and being given a chance to weigh in and even appeal that decision.
He said the government clearly deprived them of that.
And he dismissed the argument that the three outlets had jeopardized national security.
Which the administration's lawyers from the Justice Department had argued.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the United Nations Russia's war will soon spread to other parts of Europe.
NPR's Joanna Kakissis reports he called on allies to force the Kremlin
to end the war before another brutal winter starts.
Zelensky said that more than 248,000 Russian soldiers had been killed or wounded in Ukraine over the last eight months.
We have an archive of drone videos.
Videos showing thousands and thousands of Russians losing their lives in kill zones.
Zelensky also detailed how Russia's war is hurting the world.
