  • of the Chinese Kuomintang Party to pay a visit to the Chinese mainland next month.

  • A CPC official says Chen Li-wen has expressed the desire to visit the Chinese mainland

  • multiple times since she took office in November.

  • Songtao, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee,

  • says Chen and her delegation will visit Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Beijing from April 7-12.

  • And on her part, Chen Liwen has accepted the Chinese mainland's invitation,

  • expressing her hope that both parties will work together to promote the peaceful development of cross-strait ties.

  • She also called for enhancing exchange and cooperation,

  • contributing to peace in the Taiwan Strait, and improving the well-being of the people.
