Some elements, including dialogue, are dramatized, but every episode is rooted in extensive research.
It's September 1998, and Lonnie Labriola is fast running out of road.
The 40-something entrepreneurs in Denver, Colorado,
fighting to save his plan to resurrect a lost American legend, Indian Motorcycles.
Indian is a founding father of the American motorcycle industry,
often considered to be the first mass producer of U.S.-made bikes.
It hit the road in 1901, a full two years before Harley-Davidson.
Sure, the last Indian rolled off the original factory line before Elvis Presley scored his first hit record,
but its machines remain icons of mid-century Americana.
Indian motorcycles are beloved.
Even now, as Labriola is scrambling to save his deal,
there are still tens of thousands of original Indians on the road, many of them beautifully cared for.
A few years back, Labriola invested in a failed attempt to bring a modern Indian bike to the market.
It struck a chord with him because Indian was one of the more exciting American motorcycles,
the high-performance racer that once outshone the more conservative offerings from Harley-Davidson.
The way he sees it, America's riders deserve a choice.
