Hello and welcome to NewsHour for the BBC World Service.
We're coming to you live from London.
I'm James Menendez.
And today the Middle East ceasefire teeters after Israel carries out its heaviest air raid yet on Lebanon.
That's our top story today.
Also coming up, what it 's been like for the family of one of the crew members
during NASA's Artemis II mission around the moon.
And how your genetic makeup might affect how much weight you lose taking obesity drugs and how you might feel on them.
That's coming up in the second half of the programme.
But first, the ceasefire between the United States and Iran is only 36 hours old,
but it 's already looking severely compromised.
That's after Israel launched its heaviest airstrikes of the war against Hezbollah, Iran's proxy force in Lebanon.
More than 200 people were killed in a wave of attacks on Wednesday, lasting just 10 minutes.
Pakistan, which brokered the truce, said that Lebanon was included, and so did Iran.
But the US Vice President J.D. Vance, who will lead his country's delegation in upcoming negotiations,
said they got it wrong.
I actually think that is a reasonable misunderstanding,
but neither us nor the Israelis said that was going to be part of the ceasefire.
Again, we 're working with people to try to get through some of these things,
but it 's really fundamentally we 're on the right track.
