Our top story, Namibian President Natunbo Nandideituan is continuing
her visit to China as Namibia looks to deepen ties with the world's second-largest economy.
The trip comes as the Southern African nation seeks to transform
its economy by moving beyond raw material exports toward value-added industries and industrialization.
Before arriving in the capital city, Beijing, the president visited Guangdong Province,
one of China's leading hubs for technology and advanced manufacturing, and Sichuan, a major agricultural province.
The seven-day visit is her first to China since taking office.
So for more on China-Namibia relations, we are joined by Dr. He Wenping,
Senior Research Fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Before we talk about the visit itself, could you please tell us more about President Tunbo Nandi-Daitwa?
As we know, she's Namibia's first female president since independence
and one of the only two sitting female leaders in Africa today.
