Donald Trump said America was, quote, having good talks with Iran,
but threatened to resume strikes if the negotiations failed.
Mr. Trump claimed that Iran had directly requested the talks, although Iran denied this.
Fighting between the two countries has paused for now, but on Monday,
Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Yemen attacked several of America's Gulf allies, including Saudi Arabia, with drones.
Emmanuel Macron, France's president, said the wildfires blazing in the country's
southwest were France's most difficult situation since the Second World War.
He warned of tough weeks ahead.
More than 300,000 people have been evacuated from their homes across France and Spain,
which has declared its first national emergency because of a wildfire.
Rising temperatures this week could make it harder to fight the fires.
Amazon asked American regulators for permission to launch more than 5,000 satellites
to provide mobile phone services, including voice calls and messaging.
The firm hopes to compete with Elon Musk's Starlink in the direct-to-device market,
which provides services beyond the reach of cell towers.
But it is much smaller than its rival.
With fewer than 400 satellites in orbit, Starlink controls more than 10,000.
