1 小时 30 分钟Welcome to the LSE events podcast by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Get ready to hear from some of the most influential international figures in the social sciences.
Hello, good evening everyone and welcome to LSE.
Welcome also to those joining us online through LSE Live.
I'm Milan Wojnovich, I'm Professor of Data Science with the Head of Department of the Department of Statistics.
It's my pleasure to chair this evening's lecture.
Hosted by our department.
Maybe a couple of notes.
This evening is being live streamed and recorded.
And the hashtag is LSE events.
And you're all invited to a drinks reception later afterwards, after the talk in the staff common room.
So please do join.
I'll say maybe a few things just to give a background for the lecture.
So much of the recent conversation about AI has focused on building a single ever more capable machine.
Tonight's speaker asked us to widen the lens to think not only about the individual agent,
but about the collective it operates within.
So the people, institutions, markets, and the incentives that surround it,
that brings together statistics, computer science, and economics, which makes it a very LSE question.
