China has expressed firm opposition to Japan's latest defense white paper, saying it is full of false narratives.
China's Ministry of Defense says that the white paper's so-called security crisis
and China threat are excuses for Japan's military expansion.
A ministry spokesperson said Japan's new militarism has become a severe challenge
to the post-war international order and a threat to regional peace and stability.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Taiwan question is a red line that cannot be crossed,
urging Japan not to go down the path of re-militarization.
In the meantime, South Korea has also lodged a strong diplomatic protest after Japan renewed
its territorial claim to the Dakota Islet in the same defense white paper.
The South Korean foreign ministry has urged Tokyo to withdraw its claims,
saying it is going to respond to any provocation by Japan over that territory.
