  • Hi.

  • Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • I'm Crystal.

  • And I'm Amy.

  • Welcome back, Amy.

  • Many of our listeners might be familiar with her by now.

  • She's been on a couple episodes.

  • Previously she was on modern romance, Tinder and the friendzone, as well as let's go out from last year around this time.

  • It's good to be back, guys.

  • So before we kind of jump into the topic today, I just wanted to give a quick trigger warning, content warning.

  • We will be talking about things like sexual assault, sexual harassment, and rape.

  • So buckle in because it's going to be kind of a heavy episode.

  • But I guess to jump kind of into the context of today's episode recently, over the last few weeks or so, we've been seeing a huge insurgence of sexual assault victims coming out to share their story.

  • Many of these have actually come from young ladies in California, where they call out asian american men who were either from cities like San Jose or from Southern California or just in general were UC students.

  • Yeah, I think it's really easy to dismiss the possibility and the facts that, you know, sexual assault can happen by anyone and to anyone.

  • Recently, a lot of the news has been, like, mostly men harassing or assaulting women or young ladies.

  • And I think it's also kind of a shock because Asian Americans are often seen as, like, complacent almost.

  • So it feels weird to see news like this.

  • And it's kind of a wake up call, I think makes us really think about our actions, who we're hanging out with, what we are normalizing, and what we are telling ourselves is, okay.
