Hi.
Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.
I'm Crystal.
And I'm Jisoo.
So today we actually have a pretty personal topic to talk about.
I think in a sense it's very personal, but there's also a side to it that's very, like, societal, if that's a word.
So the topic is focused around money and I guess, like, money's worth to a person in terms of their, like, self worth, happiness, and evaluation.
Yeah, I think you're pretty spot on with saying that this is a personal topic because I feel like money is such a taboo thing.
Like, people aren't really going, going around talking about their salaries, sharing the numbers on their savings and on their investments, and it's pretty like hush hush even though everyone has the same questions about it, aka how do we get more?
And, you know, people have pretty universally similar experiences, I think, with money.
So I guess to kick this off, how often do you currently talk about money with your friends, parents, your boyfriend, coworkers, and just anyone around you who you talk to a lot?
I think the person that I talk, or the people that I talk about money the most with is probably my parents.
We're kind of at that stage where, I mean, me and you, we're getting to the mid twenties.
We are mid twenties now, but I feel like we're still pretty young in terms of career, money management and stuff like that.
So even though my parents don't know a ton about certain things, I still do like to ask them if they have any help or tips that they could offer me.
A lot of the times the answer is like, um, I believe you can do something like this, but I don't know, you should look into it yourself.
And I'm like, okay, great, I guess I have talked with my boyfriend about salary pay negotiations.
He's a software engineer, so I feel like negotiating and comparing salaries and things like that is very common for them, which is something that I actually appreciate from the whole, like, tech culture.
Right.
How about you?
