  • Hi.

  • Welcome back to eat your Crest podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • I'm Crystal.

  • I'm Richard.

  • And I'm Neil.

  • So this week we have two new guests on Richard and Neil.

  • So if you guys can share a little bit of background about yourself.

  • Hi, my name is Richard.

  • My pronouns are he and his.

  • And I currently work as a researcher at AAPI Hate, a new program to track anti asian hate incidents across the country.

  • I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2019 with a focus in history and asian american studies, and I found myself most drawn to participating in the public policy and organizing process because I saw it as incredibly valuable.

  • The past, the knowledge, the relationships, and the networks I developed through my time in college back to my community.

  • And that's why I'm happy to be here doing my part.

  • I've seen it firsthand as an organizer in college for voter registration and empowerment for first generation Chinese Americans.

  • I've seen it in my year working in the education nonprofit sector, working with underprivileged schools in Oakland Unified, and with southeast asian folks in the East Bay.

  • I'm hoping to do more as I embark on my next step of my intellectual, academic, and social journey.

  • Awesome.

  • That sounds really, really cool.

  • How about you, Neil?
