  • Hi.

  • Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • And I'm Crystal.

  • So for today's episode, Crystal and I wanted to talk about the most relaxing day of relaxation.

  • As you can tell by the title of this episode, we're really trying to figure out how we can relax.

  • And this episode is inspired in part by the book, my year of rest and relaxation by Otessa Moshfegh.

  • I won't spoil it, but you can sort of get a gist of what the book is about from the title.

  • And we thought also, since the year is coming to an end and a lot of different holidays are starting to come up, it would be a fun time to talk about how we take our days off and how we like to relax in order to feel restored and truly rested.

  • I want to start off by dissecting what relaxing means or even looks like to people in our age.

  • So what does taking time off or PTO mean to you?

  • I guess taking PTO usually just means, like, taking a break from work.

  • And to me, that's like, I don't have to think about work today.

  • I don't have to answer to anyone.

  • And I ideally block out work for a day or so so that I can, like, kind of refresh my mind.

  • And then when I come back from PTO, hopefully I feel more, like, energized about it because I've released that weight of it earlier, if that makes sense.

  • It totally does.

  • And that just goes to show how, like, work is such a huge part of our lives.

  • Even last week in our episode with Vivi, I felt like just talking about work, you know, really made me realize most of our life is just in work.

  • But when you personally take PTO, do you feel like you gravitate towards, like, a certain purpose?
