Hi.
Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.
I'm Jisoo.
And I'm Crystal.
As of today, Crystal has been living in New York City for almost a year, give or take a few months.
And as someone who doesn't live in New York City but has been watching a lot of my friends, one by one, trickle into the New York City life, I thought it would be a great idea to kind of sit Crystal down and talk to her about how it's been living in the city and if she's noticed any changes in things, like her attitude, the way she approaches her life, and some of the priorities she considers in her day to day lifestyle.
I can't believe it's almost been a year now.
Literally a week ago or so in my mail, I got, like, the new updated lease offer.
And then Avi and I were like, damn, I totally forgot.
Our lease is almost up now.
I know.
It's so crazy.
And I think even just in the past year, a lot of things have changed about New York City in general.
I mean, specifically, the way the city has been responding to Covid, whether stores have been open or closed.
Like, a lot of those have been changing depending on the status of Covid-19 it's kind of crazy to see, like, how many young people moved into New York City at the beginning slash middle ish of the pandemic.
And I'm kind of curious to see if that has changed the city in general as well.
I don't know if it's changed the city, and I don't know if I'm qualified to, like, say if it's truly changed anything.
But what I will say is that recently, right now, the rent prices in New York are crazy.
It's actually the highest they've ever been, even pre Covid.
And I think it's partially because so many people have been moving recently, and also a lot of COVID leases are ending.
