  • Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • And I'm Crystal.

  • So today we're coming at you with an episode about energy management and it's converse twisted cousin Burnout.

  • I think we've talked about burnout a couple times on this podcast before, where we've experienced it at work or sometimes even handling our busy social plans.

  • Things can get a little bit crazy, but we never actually talked about how we try to combat it and small tips and tricks we use to kind of stay sane in the busy day to day.

  • Speaking of staying sane, recently, work has actually been pretty busy for me, so I feel like this topic is very time appropriate.

  • I feel like also, just in general, beginning of the year sometimes tends to be busier in the work cycle.

  • Sometimes I feel like everyone is sort of energized and they get ambitious and try to ask everyone to work on a lot of projects.

  • And then we're like, yeah, totally.

  • And then you're like, wait, this is a lot of work actually.

  • Yeah, I totally know what you mean.

  • And I think also right now there's an unprecedented high of turnover where a lot of people are looking for new jobs, a lot of companies are losing employees, and dealing with that can be really stressful and crazy as well.

  • So why don't we just jump into it and discuss what your most common symptoms of burnout are and when you start to kind of notice these things?

  • Personally, one of my biggest signs of burnout is probably the, like, inability to work.

  • What I mean by that is I'll, like, know that I need to do work, and I'm taking mental note of it, and I'm like, oh, I should, you know, start working on this project at this time.

  • But then I sit down and my mind and my body just, like, won't let me work.

  • I totally know what you mean.

  • I feel like it's also weird because I feel this when I'm the most busy at work.
