Hi.
Welcome back to Eourcrust Podcast.
I'm Crystal.
I'm Jisoo.
And I'm Allison.
This week we are bringing back the grad school series, and we have my good friend Allison on, who is a physical therapist, so she can explain the world of physical therapy and what it's like to go through school for it and her thoughts on that.
So welcome, Allison.
Hi.
To start off the episode, why don't you share with us why you became a physical therapist?
It's not that interesting of a journey or story.
I would say backstory a little bit.
Like, I grew up in a very stem focused hometown, and going into undergrad, a lot of people were like, oh, you should be an engineer, you should be a doctor.
All that kind of stuff.
So that was kind of just in the back of my mind.
And as I was going through school, I obviously entertained the idea of becoming a doctor, like an md, and going to medical school.
I went down the route, so, like, I was a bio major, took all the classes, and I kind of just did a deep dive into healthcare careers.
As I did more research, I kind of just, like, crossed off one after another.
So I didn't want to go to medical school because it was just too much schooling and I wasn't passionate about it enough to really put myself through all that.
So just, like, went down the list.
I looked at being maybe like a pa.
