  • Hi, welcome back to eat your crust podcast.

  • I'm Jisoo.

  • And I'm Crystal.

  • Recently I've been feeling very reflective, a little bit nostalgic, and we wanted to do a really special episode talking about relationships.

  • I think relationships can take on a different role in your life depending on what age you are or even just the stage of life that you're in today.

  • We wanted to talk about dealing with breakups specifically and how those experiences have differed throughout our lives so far.

  • Yeah, I feel like now that we are a little older, we're like young adults.

  • And relationships, breakups, all these things are so much different from what they used to be when we were younger.

  • So why don't we first just kind of talk about what relationships and breakups were like when we were literally in what, like high school?

  • Maybe a bit of college, even more so in like junior high and elementary school.

  • I mean, I can share a story about, like, my first ever relationship.

  • I was in middle school and I was dating, and I put dating in major quotation marks because it wasn't really dating, but I was dating this guy from my school and we had spent a summer, technically in a relationship.

  • So that summer between fifth and 6th grade, which is also the summer between elementary and middle school for us, we had spent dating.

  • And dating is just like talking on Yahoo.

  • Instant messenger for like 20 minutes every night or something like that.

  • So then when we got to 6th grade, we were still dating.

  • It was just like really awkward at school.

  • So I was like, okay, I think we need to break up.

  • And I think I broke it off by sending him an email.

  • My memory is pretty fuzzy, but I think I emailed him and was like, yeah, we should break up or we should end things or something.
