Hi.
Welcome back to eat your crust podcast.
I'm Crystal.
And I'm Jisoo.
Today we have a pretty interesting concept to discuss.
We're going to talk about FoMO as well as Jomo, which is slang for fear of missing out as well as the joy of missing out.
I think depending on what point of your life you're at, how you're feeling, your social battery and all of that, either feeling can come up kind of sporadically.
So we'll go into things that make us feel FOMo, things that make us feel JoMo, and if our relationship with either of these concepts have evolved over the years.
So, what is your most common trigger for FoMO?
Oh, so this one is gonna be kind of funny to answer.
I think in my current life, when I do feel foMo, it's because I can't go to something, but I don't have a sort of backup plan.
It might be that I have to stay home for some reason or another, and I know a lot of my friends are hanging out or something like that, and I'm missing some sort of big hangout, especially if I know there's gonna be juicy gauss or maybe like a big life update from one of our friends.
And if I miss out on that, then I do feel a little bit of fOMO.
But I would say in my younger years, I felt FOMo the most when I wasn't invited to something or if people are doing something really fun and I see it on social media, but no one had actually hit me up personally.
So, like, TFTI moments?
Yeah, like, you know, I would have been fun had you guys invited me.
How about you?
Um, I think maybe I agree with the TFTI moments where you're like, damn, I didn't even get an invite.
I don't know if that's necessarily, like, a FOMO feeling.
Maybe it's also a bit of like, oh, shoot, are we, like, not as close as I thought?
